PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS Ministry of Education study awards available with teacher release included Flexible learning through block courses Qualifies you to work with children aged 0-5 with special needs and their whanau in a variety of settings OPPORTUNITIES This diploma will qualify you to work as an early intervention teacher or in other roles to support young children with special developmental needs, and their families or whanau. CONTENT Courses include Philosophies and Research in Special Education; Leadership and Communication; Early Childhood Development and Early Intervention. Students must complete 11 courses. LENGTH Two years part-time. ENTRY CRITERIA In order to be admitted to this programme, a student needs to have: a Diploma in Teaching Early Childhood Education or Bachelor of Education (Teaching) in Early Childhood Education AND at least two years of teaching experience in early childhood education.
